Jimmie Jack Drath

Jimmie Jack grew up on the Kenai river. He began running the river on his own when he was just 13 in 1982. "I just love being a river guide. The Kenai River is a special fishery. It is amazing how many fish are in this river!" Jimmie Jack was a world class pole vaulter and competed at the 1996 U.S. Olympic Trials. Lately, Jimmie Jack has been featured on Larry Csonka's North to Alaska show, Globo TV in Brazil, and many Kenai and Kasilof fishing reports on KTUU News in Alaska. Currently, his passions are fishing and Christian missions in Brazil and Mozambique. "I am so blessed. God has allowed me to live life to the full. I get to be a fishing guide on the awesome Kenai River in the summer, and then I get to bless others who are less fortunate in the winter. Praise the Lord!"  Jimmie Jack is a Certified IGFA Captain.  Currently, Jimmie Jack is serving on the board of directors of the Kenai River Professional Guide Association.

Jimmie Jack
"Big Jim" Drath

Big Jim is Jimmie Jack's dad. Big Jim has been fishing the Kenai River since 1982. When he retired from his career in security on the Alaska Pipeline, he found out that his son, Jimmie Jack had painted his boat red. Jimmie wanted his dad to join him as a fishing guide on the Kenai River, and they have been having a blast ever since. Big Jim knows the Kenai River well, and how to pull out the big kings. As he puts it, "This is where I live, this is my house." Jimmie Jack says that his dad has the HOT plugs. "Shoot, he has more awesome plugs than any of us other guides combined. We try and take them, but he sleeps with them under his pillow."
Big Jim
Adam "Salty" Nath

We picked up Adam as a free agent following the 2008 season.  He was a star peformer for the Bulldogs, and will be improving his skills with the advanced training here at Jimmie Jack Fishing.  Coach Jimmie Jack is positive that Adam will break all previous fishing records that he set last year.  During the offseason you can find Adam leading worship, and studying at the International House of Prayer, a Christian ministry school in Kansas City, MO.

Keenan Wegener

Keenan brings us local knowledge of all fisheries here on the Kenai Peninsula.  Keenan's smile is contagious, and he loves guiding. He has been especially gifted at producing a king for many "bucket lists".  When we need a hand at the lodge, Keenan is always there to keep things running.

Keenan has developed a passion for chasing trophy Kenai River Rainbows!  We have heard it many times from guests that, "Keenan is awesome!"

Don "The Technician" Hiltz

Don brings the experience of countless steelhead and salmon on the line.  Don personally puts in more days on the water in a year than most do in a lifetime.  Don is your man when you want to read water and dial in the bite in any new area.  He is a true fish finder. Don loves to fly fish for the big Kenai Rainbows!

Scott Blahnik

Fishing has been a way of life for me for as long as I can remember. After catching my first steelhead and salmon at the age of 10 I was literally hooked. My first experience fishing the Kenai was in 1994. My dad and I hauled a jet boat up the Alcan Hwy. from the lower 48. We camped along the banks of the Kenai and fished for Kings 48 days straight. My first Kenai King that summer was 65 lbs. Needless to say I had to come back. The next summer after graduating from the University of Montana with a teaching degree, I put everything I owned into my truck and hauled two brand new boats up the Alcan to start my guiding career on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. I also started a business in the lower 48 guiding for Kings and Steelhead. I worked hard, paid my dues, and learned from some of the best to become one of the top guides on the Kenai. My teacher training has been very helpful in my guiding career, as a successful guide is also a good teacher. After 20 years as a year around guide on the Kenai, Kasilof and lower 48 rivers I have joined with the team at Jimmie Jack Fishing. I look forward to using my experience to put you into a fish of a life time.

Adelaide Allen

Hello, my name is Adelaide Allen and I will be assisting my fiance, Robert, in taking care of Jimmie Jack's Fishing Lodge this summer. We are excited to being in Alaska and look forward to every adventure. I am originally from a very small town in Northern California called Leggett. Not very many people have heard of it, unless you've been to The Drive Thru Tree. I have lived here almost my whole life, graduated from the school my parents work at and even worked at several of the small businesses.

Although I've grown up in a small town, I have had the privilege to travel to many places and learn from many cultures. Having an extended family all over the United States, I have been able to visit many cities from coast to coast. I have also traveled to Mexico with my family to visit the ruins and in high school was able to be a student ambassador with the group People to People and visit Italy, France, and England. Being able to travel at a young age has given me the ambition to see what the rest of world holds.

We are looking forward to giving you unbeatable hospitality and helping our guests in any way we can. We are very happy to be a part of the team here at Jimmie Jack's and hope you will enjoy your time here with us.

Captain Charlie "Rainman"

Captain Charlie is trained by one of the leading Captains in Ninilchik.  He paid his dues as a deckhand for 3 years, and is now at the helm.  Captain Charlie is an excellent captain, always putting safety first.  He has become known as a big halibut hunter, and his mission is to hunt fish in Seward and in Ninilchik.

He is a joy to fish with, and he runs a back deck with a solid system to catch.  Come see why his reviews are high.  Big Iron pride with Captain Rainman!

Alex "Kikkoman" Laidley

No more valet parking for this guy.  Alex has been a decorated anchor pull specialist since day one.  He will take any other deckhand on toe to toe and bring his anchor to the top first.  Alex runs the back deck, baits your hooks, and lands your halibut with pride.  Stay out of his way because he is landing fish!  Alex prides himself in keeping the Big Iron clean.
